How Did This Come to Our Attention?
Cardiovascular diseases are a silent crisis in Kenya, claiming lives and leaving families devastated—not because the condition is untreatable, but because life-saving pacemakers are out of reach for many. In rural and underserved communities, parents are unable to work, children lose caregivers, and communities are left without their vital members.
This urgent need inspired the creation of Sponsor a Heartbeat. Drawing inspiration from global movements that address healthcare disparities, we recognized that access to cardiac care is not just a medical issue but a matter of social justice. With the support of partners like the Ministry of Health Kenya, the Global Cardiovascular Collaborative (GCC), and leading pacemaker manufacturers, we launched a mission to provide free pacemakers, train local healthcare workers, and educate communities about heart health.
